Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Can I bring my pet's personal bedding?

A:  For sanitary purposes we ask that you do not bring your pet's own bedding or pillows.  We have a raised platform called kennel decking, designed to keep the dogs off the concrete. We place our own washable bedding on the platform.  Every morning your pet receives clean and fresh bedding .

Q:  Can I bring treats and toys for my pet?

A:  Yes, we encourage you to bring toys and treats for your pet.  Please use discretion in selecting the toys; bring only those that your pet will not chew into small pieces.  Please bring only two toys.

Q.  Do I need to bring pet food?

A:  No, we provide everything necessary to care for your pets, including high-quality balanced dry and moist premium foods in stainless steel food and water bowls.  You need to provide the food only if your dog is on a veterinarian-prescribed diet or has a sensitive stomach.  There is no extra charge for accommodating your pet.

Q.  Is someone there to take care of my pet 24 hours a day?

A:  We have staff attending to your pets needs during business hours. During off and evening hours, the facility is locked up and secure. Management does live on the property.

Q:  Is the kennel area heated and air conditioned?

A:  Yes, we have forced air heating systems for the winter and we have forced cooled air with paddle fans and large power exhausts for the summer to exchange the air and keep it fresh.  Your dogs will stay comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside.  In the evenings, the outside runs are closed off so your pet's stay will be a safe and secure one.

Q:  What should I bring for check-in, other than my pet?

A:  If you are a first-time client, we will need proof of vaccinations from your vet.  You may bring in the documentation or have it faxed to us at the following number.

828-684-7714

Further we require a phone number where you can be reached or an local emergency contact.

We strongly suggest a reservation for all pets!

Q:  What if there is a pet emergency?

A:  We have several excellent veterinarians in close proximity to our facility, along with an emergency hospital that is open all night and on holidays.  Our first attempt will be to contact your pet's vet and, then to contact you.  We treat every guest as we would our own.

Q:  If I have two or more dogs, can they board together?

A:  Yes, our runs are large and we also have double runs so we can accommodate any size family of pets.  As long as your dogs get along together, they may share the same indoor/outdoor run.  Most of our multi-dog owners board their dogs together.  Normally each dog has its own private indoor/outdoor run, unless you ask to have your pets boarded together.
